Pink Hitler - Pink Nicktator

Der Künstler und Galerist Nick Treadwell protestierte als „Pink Nicktator“ zusammen mit dem Fotokünstler Lukas Hüller, der Maskenbildnerin Juliane R. Hauser und dem Journalisten Alexander Syllaba gegen die Darstellung Hitlers in der Ausstellung „Kulturhauptstadt des Führers“ im Linzer Schlossmuseum. Ihrer Meinung nach werden die Verbrechen Hitlers verharmlost und Hitler selbst lediglich als Architekt und Kunstsammler präsentiert und ihn zu einer Art Star glorifiziert. Nick Treadwell spricht im Interview über seine Motivation zu dieser Protestaktion und welchen Ansatz er für diese Ausstellung gewählt hätte.

Artist and galerist Nick Treadwell was protesting as the “Pink Nicktator” – together with photo artist Lukas Hüller, makeup artist Juliane R. Hauser and journalist Alexander Syllaba – against the presentation of Hitler in the exhibition “Kulturhauptstadt des Führers” (Cultural Capital of the Führer) in the Castle Museum in Linz. In their opinion Hitler’s crimes are trivialized and Hitler himself is presented as architect and art collector, who is glorified as some kind of star. Nick Treadwell talks about his motivation to protest, the reactions of the people and about his approach an appropriate exhibition about Hitler and Linz.
